On 20 November, we celebrate International Children’s Rights Day and commemorate the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. It forms the basis for the protection and promotion of children worldwide and guarantees them, amongst other things, the right to education, health, protection from violence, and the right to be heard and taken seriously.

To mark Children’s Rights Day, all visitors whose birthday falls on 20 November can visit the Little Prince Museum free of charge – whether young or old!

As part of the special exhibition ‘A Journey from Dream to Reality’, created in collaboration with Terre des Hommes, we aim to raise awareness of children’s rights. International Children’s Rights Day invites us to reflect on the rights and needs of children and to stand together to ensure that these are not merely on paper, but are also lived out and respected in everyday life.
